Mallorca offers not only beach and sun, it has a lively nightlife as well

To start the evening

On Saturdays, the modern neighbourhood of Santa Catalina becomes the centre of nightlife, giving way to the well-known “tardeo”, which can start quietly at 13:00 and end around 21:30.

The typical routine is to start at the Santa Catalina market to enjoy a caña or wine and tapas at noon. The bars on Avenida Argentina are also popular. After the market closes at 17:00, people head to places like Luna oKaelum, open from 16:30, and Social Club, on the seafront. Although admission is free, we recommend you don’t arrive too late because queues tend to form.

During the tardeo the DJs usually play hits from the 80’s, 90’s and 2000’s in the genres of Pop, Rock and Disco. Every year, the popularity of the tardeo grows, and more and more bars offer special promotions to liven up the evenings in Palma.

For dining

The area of Santa Catalina is also an ideal option to dine with quality food at a good price.

  • Stagier: you can find this bar in the outskirts of Santa Catalina, an establishment opened in 2018 by chef Joel Baeza and his partner Andrea Sertzan. This restaurant is composed of just seven tables, but with delicious food. Joel, with experience in several Michelin-starred restaurants, gives all his tapas a personal and particular touch that can only be tasted at Stagier.
  • La Lonja: in this area stands out the Forn de Sant Joan, a delicious tapas restaurant. For those looking for quality Mediterranean cuisine, La Paloma, located at the Apuntadores intersection, is an excellent option. Beatnik, with its modern ambience, is both a bar and a restaurant. In this area, you will also find La Boveda, a busy tapas bar, and the innovative Koa restaurant, created by the same owners of Forn de Sant Joan.

Leisure in Palma

For those who want to extend the evening after dinner, the Calle Sant Magí in the neighbourhood of Santa Catalina is the ideal place. This street has a wide variety of restaurants, bars and places to dance. The trendiest and at the same time the newest place is the ‘Lío’, which has already become a reference in Palma’s nightlife scene, with its daily shows and a modern and attractive cabaret atmosphere.

If you’re looking for a more relaxed experience, Palma’s cocktail bars are the perfect choice. In Brassclub, Chapeau 1987 and Ginbo Cocktail Bar, in Paseo Mallorca, you will find innovative and delicious cocktails that you will surely love.
