Mallorca’s Mediterranean climate makes winters quite pleasant, with temperatures rarely dropping below 5 degrees Celsius. Although the nights can be cold, the days are pleasant, with clear skies and warm sunshine, making winter the perfect season to explore the island.

Visiting Mallorca in winter not only means enjoying pleasant weather, but also lower prices on flights and accommodations. The island, less crowded compared to summer, allows you to explore its wonders without crowds.

A winter Friday in Palma

Friday is an ideal time to explore the centre of Palma. Key monuments, such as the cathedral, remain open in winter, offering the opportunity to explore without the summer crowds. We recommend purchasing a skip-the-line ticket and, starting in February, exploring the Diocesan Museum.

After visiting the cathedral, wander into the charming old town, where narrow streets reveal picturesque squares and medieval courtyards. For lunch, the Michelin-starred restaurants such as Adrian Quetglas or Marc Fosh will delight you. Other options include trying different tapas at the local markets of Olivar or Santa Catalina.

The afternoon can be spent exploring the Paseo Marítimo, the Pueblo Español or Bellver Castle. For art lovers, Palma is home to the Baluard museum, the Miro foundation and the March museum.

Planning Saturday

For families, Palma Aquarium and Forestal Park are original options and accessible by public transport. Those who like hiking can enjoy routes in the Sierra de Tramuntana or the excursion to Alaro Castle, followed by a delicious meal at Es Verger Restaurant.

Do you like wine? Take a train to Binissalem or Santa Maria, exploring local wineries and tasting Mallorcan wines. For cycling enthusiasts, renting a bike in Palma and riding through vineyards in the Binissalem region is also a most exciting experience.

Sunday in Mallorca

If you love flea markets, the train will take you to the lively Consell flea market, where you will find handmade and unique products.

Also visit the lesser-known but equally fascinating Campanet Caves. Combine the visit with Ses Font Ufanes, a nature area, or a helicopter or paramotor flight to see the island from the sky.

Heading north to explore Alcudia is another charming option. Its weekly market, city walls and Roman ruins offer a cultural and relaxing day out.
